Sizing & Fit

What width fitting are your shoes?

Our closed shoes (lace-ups, such as Oxfords, Derbys and Brogues) are G-Fit, which is half a size wider in circumference than our standard F-Fit. Our open shoes (slip-ons, such as loafers) are a standard F-Fit. Each product page lists the fit for that specific style.

Do you offer half sizes?

Yes, a large number of our styles come in half sizes, the available sizes for each style are listed on its product page.

What's the difference between F-Fit and G-Fit?

F-Fit is our regular, medium fit. G-Fit offers the same size but with half a size more room in circumference, for a slightly wider fit. Full details are on our Size Guide.

Materials & Leather

What leather is used in Samuel Windsor shoes?

Our leather uppers are made from premium European cow hide, alongside suede options on selected styles. All our leathers come from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG), audited on environmental impact, resource efficiency and transparency.

What are the soles made from?

Many of our Goodyear welted styles use leather soles made from buffalo leather, valued for its durability, flexibility and grip.

Do your shoes have a leather lining?

Yes, most styles feature a full leather internal lining, which covers the entire interior of the shoe for comfort, breathability and a more luxurious finish, rather than just a partial lining.

Construction

What is Goodyear welted construction?

It's the hallmark of traditional, high-quality shoemaking. A leather welt is stitched to the upper and a rib on the insole, creating a cavity filled with cork or cushioning that moulds to your foot over time. The outsole is then stitched and cemented to the welt, giving the shoe outstanding flexibility, durability, and the ability to be resoled rather than replaced.

Do all your shoes use Goodyear welting?

Most of our premium footwear does, but we also use a few other methods depending on the style: Blake stitch construction (a sleeker, more flexible build used on some formal styles), cemented construction (lightweight and modern, used on more casual styles), and stitched-down construction (rugged and durable, often used on outdoor styles). The construction method for each shoe is noted on its product page.

Where are Samuel Windsor shoes made?

Our shoes are manufactured in India to exacting quality standards, as are a number of the UK's other leading Goodyear welted footwear brands.

Returns & Delivery

Can I return shoes if they don't fit?

Yes, our 30-day refund guarantee covers footwear. Shoes must be unworn and in their original, resalable condition, including the shoebox and packaging. See our Returns Information page for the full process.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Standard Royal Mail delivery (£5.99) takes 48 working hours; Express DPD next-day delivery (£9.99) is available if ordered by 5pm. Delivery is free on orders over £100. Full details are on our Delivery Information page.
